Position Overview:We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Community Psychiatrist to join our team. As a Community Psychiatrist, you will play a crucial role in providing mental health services and support to individuals in the community. You will work in collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team to promote recovery and overall well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clinical Evaluation: Conduct psychiatric assessments and evaluations to diagnose and treat a variety of mental health conditions. Develop personalized treatment plans.
- Medication Management: Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications while monitoring their effectiveness and potential side effects.
- Therapeutic Interventions: Provide psychotherapy, counselling, and other therapeutic interventions to individuals and their families as needed.
- Crisis Intervention: Offer crisis intervention and support to individuals in acute distress.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with other mental health professionals, including psychologists, social workers, nurses, and case managers, to ensure comprehensive care.
- Community Outreach: Engage with community organizations and resources to enhance support networks and access to mental health services.
- Education: Provide education and support to patients and their families, helping them understand their conditions and treatment options.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records and treatment plans.

Candidate requirements
- Medical degree and licensing to practice in Ontario
- Certification in Psychiatry
